Kilworth Springs Crowns A New Winner

Despite the forecast threatening a marathon of rain from dawn till dusk, we lucked out and enjoyed our first southern event completely rain-free! Talk about beating the odds!

With 13 of our spirited members and 3 awesome guests in tow, we hit the greens with gusto. The back nine? Well, let’s just say it added a splash of challenge to our game – muddy terrain and grass that seemed to swallow up our balls! But hey, that didn’t stop us from giving it our all. In fact, a whopping 8 members even racked up an impressive 30 points or more! Now, that’s what I call some serious golfing!

Let’s give a hearty cheer to our champions: Carol Grinnell clinching third place with a stellar 35 points (on countback), Dave Walls snagging second place with 36 points despite a minor hiccup on holes 15 and 16, and a big round of applause for our triumphant winner, this year’s captain David Kirkham, scoring an impressive 37 points (pictured left receiving his trophy).

Despite the soggy weather we’ve been having lately, Kilworth Springs really came through, giving us the perfect backdrop for a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and, of course, some darn good golf!

But hey, the fun doesn’t stop here! Coming up next to end the March calendar is another exciting southern event at Hampton Court on Monday, March 25th. Mark your calendars for April, because we’ve got back-to-back thrillers with Selby on April 2nd (North) and Canons Brook on April 4th (South). Looking forward to seeing you all there.
