"I am proud to be a Patron/Ambassador of the Disabled Golf Association, a Charity run solely by disabled volunteers hosting golf events all over England. Helping disabled people to enjoy golf for exercise, fresh air, social and enriching lives."

DGA Patron Mark James 1999 Europe Ryder Cup Captain

Pan-disability golf committed to building new friendships while enhancing mental health through competition.

We are dedicated to offering affordable golf experiences for individuals with impairments and disabilities. We understand the value of being in the company of like-minded people who can relate to your situation, creating a comfortable and inclusive environment on the golf course and within our social circle.

As an inclusive organization, we welcome individuals with a wide range of disabilities, including amputees, blind or deaf golfers, those with congenital conditions like cerebral palsy or Down’s syndrome, and individuals living with conditions such as MS, arthritis, Parkinson’s, or those recovering from a stroke. We are also excited to welcome more young people who have autism, ADHD, tourettes, hypermobility, or global delay – providing an opportunity for them to build confidence through the game of golf, especially if they have experienced bullying at school.

Everyone is welcome – we all have one thing in common – a love of the great game of golf.

Benefits

Social

Golf offers a unique social platform, fostering connections across generations and backgrounds. It's a shared experience, encouraging camaraderie, networking, and relationship-building. The course becomes a space for shared memories, laughter, and the forging of lasting friendships, both personal and professional.

Mental Health

Golf combines mental stimulation, strategic thinking, and physical activity, promoting improved focus, stress reduction, enhanced mood, and overall mental well-being. It nurtures mindfulness, resilience, and cognitive sharpness in serene locations.

Physical

Golf enhances flexibility, promotes cardiovascular health, and improves fitness through walking and swinging motions. Not all disabilities are the same but with all aspects of golf you can find ways to enjoy the experience.

Events

Through our Order of Merit competition we make selections for our home internationals. We started these internationals events to showcase and celebrate that disabled and impaired golfers can play some awesome golf.

Despite a national spread of fifty plus tournaments from March to September, the DGA is not a huge organisation, but we have been running sustainably since 2010 with over 800 members participating.
