We’re thrilled to announce our furthest adventure up North to the historic Darlington course! Designed by the legendary Dr. Alister Mackenzie in 1908, this vintage gem gives you a taste of Augusta National right here at home.
Picture this: rolling fairways, idyllic par 3s with sneaky two-tiered greens, all bathed in glorious sunshine. The course was an exhilarating mix of challenge and fairness, making every swing a true test of skill and strategy.
But that’s not all! We spiced up the day with a thrilling three-hole challenge. On the tricky 8th Dyke (Par 3), Dale Banks nailed the Nearest to the Pin. Brian White wowed us on the 12th Tickle Tap (Par 4) with a birdie, and David Kirkham hit a perfectly straight drive on the 14th Pond (Par 4). Talk about precision!
As the scores rolled in, it was a tight race with only 7 points separating the group. In third place, continuing his stellar season, was OOM leader Dale Banks with 32 points. Dave Walls followed closely in second with 34 points, but the day belonged to John Riordan! Playing like a member, with laser-straight drives and finesse around the greens, John claimed victory with 35 points. Congrats, John!
A huge shoutout to James Cousins, our PGA Professional, for making the day unforgettable, and to the fantastic catering team who treated us to a delicious meal. Last but not least, a big thank you to the green staff for giving us that special Augusta vibe we all love. It was a day to remember!
