Northern Open Whitefield
This was our second visit to the fantastic Whitefield where the welcome is always absolutely fantastic, this visit would be for the prestigious Northern Open this is the second major within a week and yet again a well-represented event, Were we going to get the cursed Whitefield wet weather as it looked bleak on arrival, this was not to be.
Out on the course, it was in superb condition and in the early stages a little damp and true to form it was proving that Whitefield still is one of the hardest courses we play, with its long par fours and demanding par threes it looked like scoring was going to be difficult how wrong we could have been.
In 3rd place with an excellent 37pts was John Riordan, coming in 2nd with a very commendable 41pts Dean Collins and in 1st place with an astronomical score of 47pts Alan Orchard our new Northern Open champion of 2024.
We would again like to thank the staff and members of Whitefield GC for their time patience and courtesy toward the members of the DGA.
