Wellingborough Embraces An Old Friend

1st Place John Riordan receiving Trevor Sherrington Trophy from Gilly Hearfield

Wellingborough

This is one of the most prestigious venues that the DGA visits a pristine and extremely manicured parkland course with a 131 slope off the yellows set in the 160 acres of magnificent grounds of Harrowden Hall the jewel in the crown being the hall as the clubhouse.

All the staff and grounds persons were very attentive, the 2-course meal was excellent, and the pre-match bacon sandwich is also excellent. What more can you ask for of a golf club hosting one of our major trophies events the Trevor Sherrington Memorial Trophy each group went out with a club member and we would like to thank those members not only for their knowledge but for giving up their time.

Now onto the golf, you knew it was going to be a hard day, yet the sun was out and the scores were good in 3rd place Andrew Steward with 34pts coming in 2nd with 36pts Geoff Frisby and in 1st place, with an amazing score of 46pts long time friend of Trevor was John Riordan.

We want to send a special thank you to Gillian Heafield long-time partner of Trevor for her attendance and overseeing the proceedings along with the presentation of what is becoming a very coveted trophy, thank you once again, and see you next year.
