Cleckheaton Spins a Double Champion

This was our second visit to the very challenging Cleckheaton golf club historically known for its rich history in textiles. What started off looking as though we would need the waterproofs on again this season, gladly this was not the case and the weather became as warm as the welcome from all the staff.

Yet again we had a good turnout and welcomed a new member Nick Beswick who managed to put in a very good show, many of the returning players knew what to expect and were not disappointed with several tremendously difficult holes.

Not surprisingly the scores remained relatively low in 3rd place on count back with 28pts Stephen Rimmer, 2nd place on 28pts Dale Banks, and with an excellent 31pts for the second year in succession our returning champion John Rioran.

We would like to congratulate the catering staff for their superb bacon roll and a two-course meal.
