Battle Of Waterlooville

The Battle Of Waterloo(ville)

A new venue for the DGA and I was looking forward to it, it has taken 2 years to get there, and what a great course, hard, but a real pleasure to play. The fairways and greens were excellent, although tree-lined, they were enough to punish an errant shot, but easy enough to recover.

A good turn out in the end, despite several withdrawals prior to the event and all enjoyed it. Those who missed out, do not worry we will be going back next year.

Collecting her 4th top 3 finishing position, in 3rd place was Carol Grinnell with 29 points. Again, she claimed it was a bad round for her. Despite a poor front 9 and a lot of swearing Alan Baker rallied on the back 9 to secure 2nd place, thanks to countback, also with 29 points. Our winner on the day, with 30 points, was returning member Rob Johnson making the long journey from Cornwall worthwhile.

A big thank you to Michelle, Carol, and the catering team at Waterlooville for helping make the day

run smoothly.
