All events listed below will count towards the Order of Merit which will run through to the last event before the BGL final end of October as usual. We have decided to change the points for each event to give more emphasis to the top 3 and to give points up to 10th place
The full OOM report is now available following the last event held at Ramsdale - Order of Merit Report 2015
Congratulations to all who participated.
- Our network of regional co-ordinators may choose to host additional local/regional events at some great courses and everyone is welcome. This is a chance to meet up more regularly in the area where you live; these regional events will NOT attract OOM points except where this has been agreed in advance with the National Events Co-Ordinator. There won’t be formal prizes as such at these events but each group might do “their own thing” such as putting a £1 in a pot, or having a wooden spoon!
- Just for the sake of clarity, all DGA events in England will be played off the “tee of the day” – so for men usually yellow/reds for ladies. The format for OOM events will be using Stableford scoring. Cards are handed in after the event and scored using Handicap Master software for you. If you choose to submit your card with points calculated do make sure they are correct; for more about filling in your scorecard correctly – see disabledgolf.org.uk/handicaps/rules
The Order of Merit (OOM) in England will take place at top courses around the country (all Welsh members are welcome at England events and vice versa). It will be at the discretion of the National Events Co-Ordinator if there is an unusually low attendance (e.g. less than 12 players) as to whether the event will still qualify as an OOM event (and indeed whether the event therefore will be cancelled).
The top 3 from EACH of the 7 scheduled BGL Race to Burhill events in 2015 will qualify for the final held at Burhill in October; all BGL events will be scored for the top 8 players as above and BGL events will be included as OOM events.
