Our experience in England is that funding for disabled golf is really hard to come across and yet with just a nominal amount we can make a huge difference just by our existence as an organisation, so we need core supporters who will commit to supporting us on an ongoing basis. With a little more we could take on extra projects that we’ve included in our three-year business plan, ambitious to make a real impact and spread the word that disabled people can play and enjoy golf.
“Once a Golfer, Always a Golfer” Campaign
We have had a great response from golf clubs throughout the country from our appeal for the 2014 season who are looking to have the Disabled Golf Association as their chosen Captain’s or Lady Captain’s Charity or who are hosting special events raising funds for us. These are people we look to as our core supporters for “once a golfer always a golfer” – almost everyone unfortunately knows someone who has survived a stroke or heart attack or suffering with arthritis or who has had a serious accident or diagnosis. Not forgetting those who are new to the sport, as we all know once someone becomes a golfer they are passionate about the sport and this passion is still evident despite adversity. These are golf clubs who are proud supporters of the Disabled Golf Association; please see our News page for more information about the wonderfully creative ideas and activities of our supporters >>More
We are extremely fortunate to have ongoing support from DGA member Peter Colson-Osborne and his family. Each year DGA members play for the MARJORIE COLSON TROPHY. Marjorie, was a keen sportswoman, lost sight in one eye. The trophy in 2013 is pictured presented by Jacqueline Colson-Osborne who knows how pleasing this would be to her mother. The Colson-Osborne family have kindly donated three stunning medals as a keepsake of the day held on 22nd August 2013 and to be repeated in the 2014 season >>More
In particular we would like to express our thanks to the Motor Accident Solicitors Society – and golf clubs including Sand martins GC in Wokingham, The Shire GC in Barnet, BGL Group’s Burhill GC in Weybridge, and The Buckinghamshire GC for their ongoing support over the years.
A very big thank you to all our sponsors, partners and supporters for 2014 which include:

Finally thanks to our major sponsors who have supported the Disabled Golf Association over the last few years:
- Titleist who have donated Titleist Pro-V1 balls we can use as prizes stamped with our logo; and
- Glenbrae, the finest British manufacturer of polo shirts and jumpers which are available to our members complete with logo, and for their ongoing support to our international team, providing kit for the Auld Enemies Cup.
