DGA Director Sue Robertson

“On this Fundraising web page we would like to celebrate the enormous achievements of a very special group of people who have believed in the work we do and the difference DGA makes to the lives of disabled and impaired people across the country. 2015 has been a more challenging year for fundraising whereas 2014 was an incredible year; either way we have all had much fun raising much needed funds.

I am immensely proud of the hard work my husband Graeme has put into contacting golf clubs and their tremendous response (and their patience) to his appeals. I invite you to read below and to see our Testimonials page to see the real difference we can make together. Our sincere thanks to all.” Sue Robertson, DGA Director

In 2016 we have been selected for British Waterways Annual Golf Day.

Unfortunately the Motor Accidents Solicitors Society (MASS) Annual Golf Day has now been cancelled which was always a very memorable occasion and great fit between our two organisations. The charity day planned at Blackburn GC for 2015 was also cancelled unfortunately, though we hope it will go ahead in 2016.

We have received a number of donations in memorandum – in particular from the friends and family of Adrian Styles and Mr Seal; please take a moment to remember former members – see disabledgolf.org.uk/aboutus/roll-of-honour

We continue to have a close association with the clubs who raised funds for us in 2014 with the former Captains (from Mill Green GC and Malden GC) having been along to some of our events in 2015 to play alongside us able to see first hand the difference our organisation makes to people’s lives. In October 2015 we repeated the 2BBB format at Ealing GC enjoyed so much, by members both of DGA and Ealing GC, the year before.

The Seniors at Kingsdown GC,Wiltshire have also chosen us as their charity this year. We celebrated participation by joining members of Kingsdown in a 3BBB day held in July 2015.

DSCN0948DSCN0189DSCN0956Members at Carden Park GC have supported the Disabled Golf Association as both Captain and Lady Captain’s Charity for 2015. Sue and Graeme Robertson have been involved throughout the season in planning, attendance at charity dinner and finally receiving the cheque following their AGM on 6th December – where a staggering £5.500 was presented!

Graeme said “We feel we have developed a special relationship with the members at Carden Park GC, one that we hope will be ongoing. Carden Park is a spectacular venue for championship golf. We would like to thank all the members for everything they’ve achieved this year and know that monies raised will make a huge difference to the Disabled Golf Association. I should also like to thank golf clubs across the country who donated fourball vouchers and to Calloway for donation of superb golf bags – all of which were auctioned at the charity dinner”.
